Mission

The mission of Fonds Vives is to foster the formation and growth of UCL spin-off companies and to invest in young high technology companies with whom a strategic relationship may be established to promote "Open Innovation".

Investment criteria

VIVES only invests in projects or companies that have the following characteristics :

• a clearly defined and competitive enterprise concept ;

• a complete business plan ;

• a solid technological base ;

• a capable and motivated team ;

• the potential to generate an internal rate of profitability that is above 25% of equity capital.

• the companies must have the headquarters of their main activity in the European Union. In practice, geographic proximity is a major factor with priority being given to those within a radius of 200km.

• the companies must be operating for less than 5 years with the technology products in the pre-trading stage.

SOPARTEC, as the Fund administrator, will carry out an in-depth analysis of the technology, the human resources, the commercial potential and the financial structure of the investment projects.
